Frontline food production jobs typically include entry-level positions and intermediate skill level positions. Entry-level positions require no prior experience, and a secondary school diploma might be preferred but is not required. On-the-job training and job shadowing is key for these positions.

Intermediate skill workers typically have six months to one year of experience already working in food and beverage processing or a similar manufacturing environment. A secondary school diploma is preferred, but it’s not a requirement. On-the-job training is provided, including food safety training.

Being a frontline food worker requires a range of skills. However, there are a few that are more essential than others.
